Add an image with HTML editor

Q.

How do I add an image? HTML editor? I got an image I need to post, what do I do next?

A.

The HTML editor enables/displays complex text and image tasks. The HTML editor will appear in various Resources, activities, and forums. These steps will work anywhere an HTML editor appears to offer help.

1. Determine where to place the image. Could be on the front page (topic/week) or in an Activity or Resource.

2. Type an image description, then place the cursor where the image is to display.

3. Click the Insert/edit image icon. The icon looks like a small tree in the third row of the HTML editor.

4. Option A. Paste a URL from an image file from the web. Copy a URL into the Image URL field.
Note: Be sure to complete the Image description text for people using page readers for accessibility.

4. Option B. Browse to an image in a folder by clicking Find or upload an image... This will open the File picker and to select the image to be inserted.

4. Option C. Use the File picker to select an image from one of the repositories. Browse for the file, select it, click Open, then click Upload this file to the course.

5. After the file is selected, enter an Image description, then click on the Appearance tab to alter dimensions and justification of the image.

6. Update the layout, spacing, and size of the image by adjusting the settings. Then click Insert.

7. The preview window should display the image. If necessary, readjust the appearance settings to get the desired results.

8. To change the image settings, click the image itself and press the Insert/edit image icon in the editor, then click Update. Or you can click image itself and use the drag handles (pull in or out) to re-size the image.
